Gallery Kaibundo (now Gallery Shimada) has supported cultural activities through "Kamei Junko Cultural Fund", through "Kobe Cultural Restoration Fund", and through "Citizens' Fund Kobe". To enhance the expansion of our activities, we have set up "Art Support Center Kobe (ASK)"

Kobe Cultural Restoration Fund (Art Aid Kobe)(Japanese)
■Aim
ASK, as the center of creative culture and its exchanges, aims at dispatching relevant messages to society, while laying the foundation for cultural support.
■Activities
- Consultation and advice given to the activities for art performances.
- Research and advocacy on cultural activities in general.
- Provision for and suggestions to the fund for cultural support (construction of the system to secure the financial sources).
- Dispatching Information on the web site about the above activities, publications, seminars, and lectures.
- Networking with the other citizens' activities.
- Information exchange, creative activities, information dispatching and the empowerment of citizens, through the "SALON", which is held monthly at the Gallery Shimada.
■Financial Sources
ASK is financially supported through membership fees and donations from its supporters. Also, in the future, we hope to strengthen our financial base by implementing projects commissioned by outside agencies.
■Events of the Month
ASK will arrange "Salon", as the Topos, where not only the artists, but also other creative individuals will meet to exchange ideas, stimulate each other and create the new. The Salon also includes the performance of concerts, plays, films, as well as lectures and workshops. The Salon held at the Gallery Shimada is called "Kobe-juku, Tuesday Salon".
■Kamei Junko Cultural Fund(Japanese)
Kamei Junko Cultural Fund was established in 1992, for the financial support of the activities of young artists. We annually support 4-5 individuals, each receiving 200,000 yen. Its basic fund is 16 million yen.
■Kobe Cultural Restoration Fund (Art Aid Kobe)(Japanese)
Kobe Cultural Restoration fund started its various restoration activities in the field of art and culture, after the Kobe earthquake in 1995. To date,it has provided 80 million yen for its activities, including 30 million yen for supporting cultural activities.
