■The Concept
The Gallery Shimada, after 21 dynamic years at Motomachi as Kaibundo Gallery, has moved to Kitano, Kobe, to further expand its activities.
This location was chosen to provide a vibrant atmosphere for a dramatic theater of the arts.
The attractive building, RIRAN's GATE, is one of the major works of a prominent architect, Mr. Tadao Ando, is suited beautifully for the Gallery.
The interior was designed by Mr. Yo Shimada.
The Gallery Shimada is not just a place for exhibitions, but a salon for the interplay of various genre, people and activities. Our hope is that this exchange will create new activities in the future.

■How to reach Gallery Shimada
The Gallery is located 10 minutes walk from Sannomiya Station at Kitano, Kobe. The quality of the exhibition is well worth the energy required to reach us.
The Gallery Shimada exhibits the best works of well-known artists, aswell as the promising artists of the future.

■Features of the Gallery

We host more than 30 annual exhibitions. Our emphasis is on contemporary artists, who try to be in attendance at their exhibition. We host artists, well known and those who are up-and-coming. We have also invited international artists from countries such as the United States, France, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain, China, the UK, Bolivia, Canada.
